Missy was found in town amongst the traffic and was picked up to keep her safe. Strangely enough, an owner never came to claim her, so she is now up for adoption. She's an active young girl - likely between 1-2 years old. She's small and we think a mix of spaniel, american eskimo and maybe some spitz. She was just taken into foster care, so we will be able to find more about her personality and habits in the near future. Missy was taken into foster care Oct 29/11 - here's what her foster mom says the next day: "We have been fostering this well-mannered, laid-back little lady for a day and a half and we are quickly falling in love! She needs to find her forever home before we get more attached! She is affectionate and submissive and eager to please. A great foot warmer who loves to be close to the action. Has been great with our 3 1/2 year old and 6 month old. No aggressive bone in her little body! Has been friendly with our other dog too, even though we are having some jealously issues and it hasn't always been reciprocated. Comes when called. Even stays off our furniture! Beautiful silky coat. We thought shedding might be an issue but we bathed her when she arrived and doesn't look like it will be a problem. We've only heard her bark once (spied something out the window) but stopped when reprimanded. Had a couple little "accidents" yesterday but none today. Definitely has the basics in housebreaking though may need a refresher as we understand had been at the shelter for about 2 weeks. We would highly recommend her for a family with young children. It took her all of 2 hours to settle in and be totally at ease. She has made herself quite at home here and should transition well to any good home. Our son insists on calling her Jenny (after a dog in a book) and she seems to like that name too :) Really temped to keep her but that was not the deal when we took her home to foster and our Kiwi is not impressed. Such a sweetie!!"
